Selecting
a Ball
If you are unsure about
the correct weight of the ball, our Bowling
Executives will assist you.
Put your fingers in
first -
up to the second knuckle.
Then put in your thumb.
Your thumb should go all the way into the ball
for a good fit.
The fingers and thumb
should touch all the way around the holes without
being tight.
How to
Hold the Ball
Cradle
the ball gently in your free hand. Put your thumb
and two middle fingers into the holes. Your thumb
should point upward. Aim
for the target.
A good starting point is the 2nd Arrow.
Where
to Stand
Start at the foul line
facing away from the pins.
Take 4 1/2 normal walking
steps and turn around facing the pins.Do not
look at the floor while walking. This should
be the
correct distance for a four-step approach. Pick
up the ball with two hands.
Start with one foot
on one of the spots on the approach, preferably
the centre spots or the one to the right.
Stand at the same spot
each time you deliver your first ball. Don't
move around. Keep your left foot slightly forward,
land your body weight mostly on foot opposite
ball. Align toe or inside of either foot on
one of the dots on the approach. Keep your heels
and both firmly on the approach feet separated
about one to four inches with both feet pointing
straight toward the target. Left-handed bowlers
should do the reverse of the procedure described
for right-handed bowlers.
